About the workshop:

Advanced flips, tricks and gymnastics movements all require foundations of mobility, strength and understanding. In this 90 minute workshop, Russ Harris will take you through a fun and safe introduction to some of these impressive bodyweight exercises.

The session will be entirely practical with a focus on two specific areas; strength and conditioning, and performance skills. You’ll also learn effective progressions and regressions for basic and more advanced bodyweight exercises.

This workshop is open to all abilities, we aim to meet you where you currently are and show you exactly what you need to do to progress on to the next level of your training.

You’ll learn how to break down 3 fundamental calisthenics movements - the handstand, the planche and the front lever, into their component parts, then find variations that teach you how to build your bodies’ abilities up to a level in order to achieve exercises you never imagined being able to do.

This workshop is 90 minutes of practical coaching on the gym floor, we keep the content flexible enough to match your level so you take lots away from the session. This flexibility means we can always show you ways of progressing your skills, so don’t worry if you feel like this may be too easy or too hard for you, we pride ourselves on finding exercises and techniques that match where you are currently and then support you to take things to the next level.

We do spend some time talking through some exercises and you get plenty of time to practice at your own speed.

We also have a few minutes at the end of every workshop in case you have any questions about the workshop or your own training.

We try to make our workshops friendly and inclusive, we like to chat to everyone to find out how we can help you individually. As we’re personal trainers during the week, we believe that bespoke advice is the best advice so we try to bring that into our workshops.

Expect to go away feeling inspired, full of ideas and new exercises to try straight away in your next gym session or at home!

Although I believe fitness and personal training are art forms, underpinning that art with scientific evidence is at the heart of my core values as a trainer.

I help you understand the basics and make sense of the complex. I coach both personal trainers and those dedicated to improving their own fitness to learn new skills, and better yet - how to learn new skills. I develop your abilities and understanding of how and why so you can enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
